St. John's Cemetery Project

Jarred Steinfurth, an eighth-grader at Hamburg Middle School, places a flag at the grave sight of a fallen soldier at the St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery in Hamburg, Pa. on May 23, 2012. Students from Lisa Scicchitano's eighth-grade "adopt-a-veteran" exploratory class have made several trips to the cemetery, researching soldiers from the Revolutionary and Civil War. In this ceremony, they read their findings to the class and left a rose and memorial stone at each soldier's grave site.
